In school, there can be an overwhelming amount of information being thrown at you and lots of resources you can use to study.  It can help to have a study method to organize your study time.  When you have an idea of what to expect, there's less anxiety about studying for school.

How to Determine Your Effective Study Strategy Part Two

How to Develop Your Customized Study Strategy Part Two:

*The best way to do determine your effective study method is to determine what kind of learning styles you like to use. Ask yourself the following questions.

Most schools provide you with textbooks, videos to watch,

a) If you're a visual learner, a learner that learns better with diagrams or pictures, you might want to skim read textbooks by looking at the bold, italics, and pictures in the textbook, review the chapter summary or objectives, ask yourself what the reading is about? or watch videos produced by your teacher. The one you choose from the above options should be the one your professor emphasizes.  I had a professor that made his own videos for students to learn difficult concepts and gave practice questions.  Instead of reading the textbook, I watched videos and did the matching questions. I got an "A" in the class. #lessismore

b) If you're a kinesthetic learner, a learner that likes to use their hands, you might want to summarize what you understand when you read the textbook, take notes on the reading, and draw pictures in your notes.  Note: Typing is not effective for a kinesthetic learner because it doesn't create muscle memory.

c)If you're an auditory learner, a learner that can hear things once and understand them, you might want to teach another person the subject or write a rhyming song that explains the topic you want to learn.

d)All learners benefit from practice questions and reviewing the answers in a timed fashion.

d) Most people are a mix of the types of learning styles.  Thus, mix and match two of the above.  If you have less time, choose one of the above from a thru c.  Additionally, make sure to do practice questions and review the answers under timed constraints.  For example; I am a visual kinesthetic learner.  My current class does not have videos and matching questions.  Thus, my personalized study strategy is to skim read the bold, italics, and pictures.  Whilst being an active reader, I also take notes with drawing pictures.  Then, on Sundays, I devote three hours to review my notes for the week for all my classes, take practice questions, and review the answers.  I time myself.
