The reviews on review sites like Yelp are not helpful in California. Through my research, I learned of this amazing sushi restaurant. After eating here, I learned President Obama ate here!
Kusakabe
At this restaurant, there is one option of a pre-fixe menu at $185 per person. But, it is worth it. The menu consists of sushi, sukiyaki, and wanmono (fried halibut) and they were expertly prepared. The service is attentive, which makes this a high-caliber restaurant. Chef Kusakabe himself serves on the front lines and works to make your experience above and beyond. It's great for special occasions. I had my birthday celebration here.
Beware when you book reservations for this restaurant, the number of people on the reservation pay whether or not they eat because each party is 10% of the restaurant's income and this spot serves an intimate crowd. You can either plan accordingly by booking at another restaurant or take the remaining sushi home.
