NY Pizza Suprema Restaurant as in Anthony Bourdain’s “Parts Unknown: Lower East Side”

Spread the love

You have never had good pizza like this until you've tried NY Pizza Suprema's pizza.  I can't say enough about this place.  Yes, I will actually describe food, pizza, as beautiful.  And I did not think I would! At NY Pizza Suprema, the pizza is the canvas and the experience of eating it is the art.  Finding gems like this gives me so much joy and to spread the news about it even more joy.  Why? Because it's affordable and tasty food and believe me, I love food! There is a reason great foodies like Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern have paid a visit to this place.

When I took my fiance here, he wasn't quite sure what to expect.  He ordered with some reservation.  He is not used to eating outside of his typical meals and it was something new for him.  But, when he took his first bite of the Sicilian slice, he moaned in ecstasy like Meg Ryan's character, Sally, did in the movie, When Harry Met Sally when she took a bite of her sandwich at Katz's Deli. My fiance wanted a second slice but did not only because we had plans at Daniel Boulud's Daniel (see Food Reviews) later that night where dinner was $265 per person and he would be full if he ate more.  As the tough critic my fiance is, he was converted in an instant.  He said he wanted to come back. I brimmed with pride as I made him happy.  Food is my definition of love.

What you can expect is to pay moderately expensive prices for a slice of pizza, but the quality is outstanding.  You may pay $5 for a slice, but all of the ingredients are imported from Italy and are done right.  You cannot be wrong: any slice is amazing.  I've tried different slices each time I come and I have never been disappointed. The pizza is so flavorful, that it doesn't even need seasonings like oregano or red pepper.  However, it is up to you what you prefer.  I have visited over four years ago until January of this year, 2022, to write this post and each year since then the restaurant has earned more and more accolades annually.  Stop by and try this pizza, it is one of the best in NY! I and Anthony Bourdain mean it.
