Tasty, quick, 5 mins prep time tops!

Nommers use the affordable shaved beef found in Trader Joe's or other stores to make a luscious chopped cheese. Make it breadless or with lettuce cups for a guilt-free tasty meal.

This recipe is tasty and simple, just how I like it. Quick too!

SERVINGS: 2-3 PREP TIME: 5 min COOK TIME: 10-15 mins TOTAL TIME: 20 mins tops

Equipment:

  • Cutting board
  • Kitchen knife
  • Pan
  • Spatula or Tong

Ingredients

  • 1lb Shaved Beef/ Sirloin
  • American Cheese or Melting Cheese of Your Choice
  • Coconut Oil Spray
  1. Take out ingredients. Place ingredients in your working space. Spritz or 1 Spray of Coconut Oil into Pan. Turn on the stove on high. Open the sealed pack of beef while waiting til pan is hot.
  2. Tease apart slices of uncooked beef. If they clump together, no worries. Tease apart as many layers as possible. Then put single or excess layers into the pan. Cook to your doneness. For medium rare, about a 1-1.5 min, flipping, for each side.
  3. Add 2 cheese slices per row of beef slices and try to put cheese singles in between the same beef strips to melt the cheese.
  4. Take slices off the stove and stack and chop with a kitchen knife. Add 4 oz or a palmful of chopped meat to a plate & bon apetit, Nommers!!

Want Sarku Takeout at Home with little cooking time and set-it-and-forget-it applications? Say no more! Tried and true.

Nommers you can use chicken thighs skinless or trim the fat for a nice in-between when it comes to eating healthier and full flavor. Chicken breast can be dry and dense, but thighs are a nice alternative; as they balance taste with weight loss. Let's normalize the word healthier to mean appetizing! Flavor can still be attained when eating healthy. Just do it in portions, just sayin'!

This recipe is tasty and simple, just how I like it. Quick too!

SERVINGS: 1 PREP TIME: 10 min COOK TIME: 18-20 mins TOTAL TIME: 30 mins

Equipment:

  • Air Fryer
  • Metal Bowl or Sturdy Plastic container for Marinating
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Less Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 shakes Pepper Flakes
  • A pinch of Sea Salt
  • 1lb Deboned Skinless Chicken Thighs
  • Coconut Oil Spray
  1. Take out ingredients. Place ingredients in your working space. Put filtered water in a plastic container with the meat. Add vinegar or lemon juice to water with chicken to rinse and clean the chicken. After 5 minutes sitting in the fridge, strain water into sink leaving the chicken in the container.
  2. In the same plastic container with chicken, add all seasonings. Let marinate for 1-2 minutes as you set up the air fryer.
  3. Spray the air fryer with a spritz of coconut oil. Use a tong to place marinated chicken into it until one layer of chicken fills it. May need to cook 1lb of chicken in two total batches in the fryer.
  4. Cook for 18-20 minutes each batch. 20 minutes end up on the crispier side if you like that crunch and flavor. Bon apetit, Nommers!!

Inspired By My Own Creativity: Tasted Tested, Nommer Approved!

Nommers you can use instant coffee if you don't have ground coffee. European and Latin Coffees outside of the US have less acidic profiles and side effects, meaning your stomach will thank you. You won't pee 15x a day or have a "frozen" brain or jitters. There will be an optimal state of focus with coffees originating and processed outside the US. This is because these coffees tend to be Arabica which is grown and processed differently than in the US; and therefore, has very minimal side effects.

This recipe is tasty and simple, just how I like it. Quick too!

SERVINGS: 1 PREP TIME: 5 min COOK TIME: 2 mins TOTAL TIME: 7 mins

Equipment:

  • Coffee Fine Mesh Strainer for Ground Coffee or Espresso Maker for a Latte
  • Coffee Stirrer or Spoon
  • Coffee Mug
  • Ninja or Other Mini Blender

Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter
  • Milk of Choice
  • Sweetener of Choice, I use Brown Sugar or Honey
  • Turkish Ground Coffee
  • Filtered Water
  1. Take out ingredients. Place ingredients in your working space. Put filtered water in mug.
  2. Heat in Microwave for 1.5 minutes.
  3. Blend peanut butter, milk, and sweetener in ninja or other blender of choice til frothy.
  4. Take out hot water and add strainer with coffee inside. Let steep for 15-30 seconds. While steeping add peanut butter foam atop coffee.
    • If you want to make a latte, it means most of the mug will be milk, and 1/4 of it is espresso, brewed fresh or with instant espresso! Then, you froth the milk on top.
  5. Take a spoon and start in a circular motion from the outer edge toward the middle, the coffee grounds should make a swirl pattern in the foam & bon apetit, Nommers!!

Have you heard of letting it roll off your back but had no concrete direction on how to do so? Well, then this post will bring you relief, help you establish healthier boundaries, and better manage your time & energy, eliminating needless focus.

Recently, I was asked my opinion by a graduate professor. When I gave my answer, this individual insinuated I was wrong. How can I be wrong for an opinion? She's weird. While I needed to leave to go to the bathroom, I also needed to remove myself from the situation to breathe OUT my anger. I'm disappointed by another adult, who ought to know better and preaches I must be a responsible adult. Yikes!

Solutions:

  • Havening and self-talk that tells me I'm lovable and worthy like being my own hype man.
  • Reminding myself "This person is not important in my life."
  • Know that listening to what other people tell you you should value sucks your time energy and joy. Clarify what you want.
    • Consider it eats up all the energy and limited fucks you have in a day.
  • Say no to things you never wanted to do. Accept and consider what's the worst that can happen if someone doesn't like it?...nothing!

Speed up your nos, slow down your yeses."

Tried and True. Cochrane Library Research Library Evidence Utilised in this Article

Advice for a good diet and sleep has been around since as long as I can remember. I remember hearing "get your rest" and eat a good hot meal as a school kid. This advice still stands strong and remains true today.

According to the Cochrane Library Research Article, the database for the highest quality research articles. While some insights are required to sift necessary information out of the papers written in research jargon, I can bring the info to life for you here clear as day (It's not uncommon that research articles need to be read multiple times to "get it.")

Based on my experimentation and Cochrane's research article linked internally above in this article, sleep, and diet significantly improve my functioning. I have more clarity, sharp focus, and better manage my life. It's not a cookie-cutter approach; So the number one thing I would recommend is after finding out the optimal amount of hours you need to sleep, try noting what you are like without those optimal hours of sleep. Also, how do you feel when you eat certain foods? Keep a short log, written in blurbs about food eaten per meal and the mood you felt after consuming each meal and snack of the day.

When I eat better, "everything in moderation," eat in a calorie deficit, eat lots of home-like meals when away from home, and drink lots of water; my mind is a clearer vessel. I'm so much happier, and my work is productive and so is my ability to adapt. You can experiment on this too.

Feel free to email me at nomsodyssey@gmail.com or post a comment with your findings on your fun mini-experiments!!

Trader Joe's Vs, Whole Foods Vs. FoodTown

Trader Joes

  • Value: Amazing Ethnic Foods to Try For Those with Adventurous Palates & Good Quality Ingredients
    • There's a committee that decides what food items and what level of quality make it onto store shelves and are ultimately sold based on taste, quality, and need/appeal. So foods are tasted before you try them.
    • Quality is preached and it's also reached with readily available good quality produce and food items.
    • Wide range of interesting choices in both American and Ethnic Foods, Seafood, Poultry, Meat, Fish, Pre-Made Food Items, and Miscellaneous.
    • Very Easy To Find What You Need; Store Aisles Very Organized By Food Theme/Item
    • Shelves readily stocked and Stale Items Removed
  • Cost: Accepts EBT
    • $50-100 cheaper than Whole Foods for Similar Quality Items

Whole Foods

  • Value: Good quality foods, sometimes one note or very salty in flavor
    • Prevalent in NYC
    • Multilevel store with enumerous items; may be distracting and difficult to find what you need instantly; the organizational layout is not evident throughout the store
    • Has a food court to sit down, and eat or drink if needed, or even get HW done or Work
    • Free Wifi
  • Cost: Accepts EBT
    • $50-100 or more expensive than other grocery stores for similar quality items

FoodTown

  • Value: Good quality foods
    • Great for last-minute grocery runs
    • Located everywhere and accessible
    • Wide variety of ethnic foods, though sometimes the foods are one-note in flavor
    • Relatively easy to find what you are looking for
    • No committee decides what is sold; there is a hodge podge collage of ingredients/food that is sellable and available to the public
  • Cost: Accepts EBT
    • Has a club card that provides discounts or price reductions off the total bill when points accumulate from items bought using it.
    • Very Easy To Find What You Need; Store Aisles Very Organized By Food Theme/Item
    • Shelves not readily stocked and so items listed for sale may spoil before you even buy them
